Q: Is your pottery food safe?

A: Yes! All Laurie Baron Pottery is food safe, dishwasher safe & microwave safe - unless noted otherwise.

Q: Do you hand make everything?

A: Yes! All of my pottery is handmade by yours truly, using high-quality clay and glazes.

Q: If I see something that is sold out, can I be notified when it is back in stock?

A: Unfortunately, I cannot automate that. However, if you shoot me a message through the ‘Contact Me’ page and let me know you are interested in something specific I will definitely let you know when I have more available. They just may differ slightly as all of my pieces are one-of-a-kind.

Q: Do you take commissions?

A: I am always open to discussing commissions, the process can sometimes take longer than a client would like and the cost will be based on time, materials, & complexity. Having said that, I am not a production potter and take pride in the fact that my pieces are not identical. If you want a “set” of something, please understand that the pieces within that set WILL differ - it’s the sign of truly handmade pottery.

Q: How long does it take to make a piece?

A: The amount of time depends on the piece itself. Size, shape, complexity, materials used, etc. One piece can take up to a month to complete.

Q: Do you offer lessons?

A: Yes! I offer private lessons. However, I currently do not have my own studio. If you are in the DMV region, I teach small group classes on Sunday evenings (8-week sessions that fill up quickly) & you can schedule private lessons through Potters Union.

Q: What do you ship?

A: At this time I can ship within the continental US. If you are in the DMV region, I offer a free pickup from Reston Town Center.

Q: Do you offer refunds?

A: No. All of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and will have some variances & irregularities that are part of the handmaking process.
